Microgreen Tendrill Pea Shoots - for Indoor Birds

Pea shoots are one of the easiest fresh greens to introduce to a pet bird's diet.

Sweet, tender, universally loved, and packed with the nutrients birds thrive on. Grown indoors at our farm in Northallerton, cut fresh and completely chemical-free, they're rich in plant protein, vitamins A, C and K, folate and iron - without any of the brassica compounds some birds are less keen on.

Parrots, cockatiels, conures, budgies, lovebirds and finches all take to them straight away; pea shoots are often the first fresh food a seed-only bird will actually accept.

Beyond the nutrition, the delicate curling tendrils are a genuine foraging bonanza, birds pull at them, shred them and work through them slowly, satisfying the natural food-seeking instinct that a cage rarely delivers. 

Offer a small handful every few days as part of a rotated fresh-food mix.
